- Work to architect, design, develop, and support our Internal Developer Platform, based on the Backstage.io project, which automates the delivery of fully configured developer toolchains and environments.
- Work on building and modifying backstage plugins to integrate various key systems within Sky’s developer ecosystem.
- Develop workflow and robotic process automation for the provisioning and management of cloud services and resources including connectivity, networking, security, and enterprise integration aspects.
- Help create/integrate our automated path-to-production (golden pathway), providing a ‘hands-free’ route for our development teams to promote their releases through our environments and deploy applications into production based on maturity-driven logic.
- Develop high-quality code for use in infrastructure automation, libraries, and tools including the APIs that expose our cloud and developer enablement services to the developer community across Sky Group.
- Craft and develop source code for compliance, privacy, security, high availability and resilience, and performance across our technology stack.
- In-depth web development experience in using Javascript/Typescript and any JS frameworks etc. to build front and back-end components of sophisticated applications for the delivery of technical services. Backstage uses PERN stack so experience in PostgreSQL, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js is highly desirable.
- Experience in building and integrating applications and services in a cloud-native or serverless environment across AWS and/or GCP.
- Proven ability to contribute to the design and development of one or more web APIs to expose application features and services to developers.
- Experience in analysing workflow and implementing workflow automation and/or robotic process automation to optimise process efficiency and reduce process error and failure rates.
- Experience working in an agile development environment combined with excellent engineering hygiene behaviours and written and verbal communications skills.

Team overview
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be working at all levels of the technology stack to build our suite of cloud and developer enablement applications that empower our tech teams to deploy their applications into production easily, quickly, and safely. You will use cloud-native and serverless approaches across AWS and GCP (and our in-house technologies) to build our cloud automation, path-to-production (golden pathway), and Internal Developer Platform products to improve the experience, productivity, and velocity of our application development teams at Sky. You will also play a lead role in the design and development of the APIs that expose these services to our dev community.
